Brussels: 14 December 2021 - Upon Alta Signa's request, law firm DWF Group prepared an overview of the Spanish, Italian, German and French Financial Lines insurance markets as they stand today. After a long period of soft market conditions, the last couple of years have seen the European Financial Lines market undergo significant changes. Today, the market can best be described as being in a transitional phase, as characterised by the following trends:
- Significant contractions in capacity and risk appetite.
- Increase in rates and premiums.
- Reduction in the number of provided guarantees.
These trends have further accelerated during the economic flux caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
